About Us

The Knoxville Adaptive Education Center, located in Board of Education District 4 and KCS Region 1, was established in 1968. The center is situated on Kingston Pike and serves as a specialized educational program for students with diverse needs. Knoxville Adaptive Education Center serves select students in grades K through 12 from all schools in Knox County who require a structured and supportive school environment with a strong mental health component.

K.A.E.C. follows an academic calendar approved by the Board of Education that identifies the first and last day of school; student and teacher in-service days; early release days; school holidays; and grading periods.
